Hip Pain Physical Therapy

Weightlifters

Weightlifting, like any physical activity, can lead to injuries if not performed correctly or if the body is pushed beyond its limits. Our PT program includes specific mobility work targeting areas that are commonly tight or restricted in weightlifters, such as the hips, shoulders, and thoracic spine. We also emphasize core stability and functional strength training. Common injuries among weightlifters include:

Crossfit Athletes

Our PT program for CrossFit athletes incorporates a variety of elements to enhance performance. Central to the program are compound movements which build overall strength and mimic the multi-joint movements used in CrossFit.

In addition, targeted isolation exercises are used to strengthen weak or imbalanced muscle groups, such as the rotator cuff, hip stabilizers, and lower back muscles. The program also includes plyometrics and power development exercises to enhance explosive strength and agility.

MMA Fighters & Boxers

Our specialized program for MMA Fighters, Boxers and other combat athletes focuses on developing explosive power, speed, and agility, which are essential for effective striking or grappling in the ring or cage. I fractured 3 transverse spinal processes in November 2025 and had a C section baby 3 days later. I was in quite a bit of pain with very limited mobility, and about a month after the injury, started physical therapy to ensure I could heal well and run again. Dr. Lily helped me both heal and get my back moving again, as well as some pelvic floor exercises since even though I had a C section, I had pelvic floor pain after being pregnant. After a few months, we tapered off appointments and I have sucessfully been able to run, do yoga, lift weights, and return to normal daily life again with no pain! They were very conveniently located in NE Minneapolis near me, and had great scheduling availability. I'd go again!
